Threshold Complex Exploration Log

Log ID: 14-K11

Designation: Pump Gallery P-7

Apparent Date/Time: 17 August 2026 / 08:47 (internal chronometer loses 47 seconds per external minute)

Entry Method: Side hatch from utility corridor. Hatch sealed after entry. External handle remains visible through viewport.

Environmental Baseline

Lighting is provided by four sodium-vapor fixtures. Color temperature measures 2100K. Intensity holds at 85 lux.

Ambient temperature registers 24.1°C. Pipe surfaces read 41.6°C.

Humidity is 67%. Air carries faint chlorine scent.

Background sound is a continuous 38 Hz pulse. Pulse interval shortens by 0.4 s when explorer faces the east wall.

Air movement is present as a steady 0.3 m/s flow from the north. Static pressure measures 98.4 kPa.

Spatial Observations

Gallery measures 18.2 m by 4.1 m by 3.4 m. Floor area calculation yields 74.6 m². Laser scan returns 61.3 m².

Floor is grated steel over concrete channel. Grate sections measure 1.2 m square. Section count remains constant after inventory.

Walls are painted steel plate. Paint is intact. No corrosion visible.

Ceiling contains six identical centrifugal pumps suspended on pipe hangers. Pump housings show no nameplates.

Floor channel contains three parallel pipes of 30 cm diameter. Flow direction indicators point opposite to measured flow.

A single control console occupies the west end. Console display shows blank green screen. Button count is twelve. Button count remains twelve after each inventory.

Anomalies

Measured flow direction reverses every 3.7 minutes. Reversal produces no change in pump motor sound.

Pressure gauges read 2.4 bar while pumps are offline. Gauge needles do not move when pumps activate.

Water in the channel is clear. Chemical test returns zero residual chlorine. Chlorine scent intensity increases with proximity to the water surface.

Console display updates with text fragments from previous explorer logs. Fragments appear 11 seconds after the explorer reads them aloud.

Viewport through entry hatch shows the utility corridor in a state 4 minutes prior. Physical contact with the viewport glass produces no temperature change.

Elapsed time on explorer chronometer is 62 minutes. External recovery clock shows 89 minutes.

Entity Notes

No entities observed.

Residual vibration is present in the steel grating within 1.2 m of any active pump. Vibration ceases outside the radius. No measurable displacement accompanies the vibration.

Exit / Continuity Status

Exit achieved by forcing the side hatch after third flow reversal cycle. Hatch released outward with external pressure.

Residual effect: chronometer continues to lose time at 47 s per external minute for 6 minutes post-exit.

Skin retains mild chlorine scent for 19 minutes.

Explorer status: intact. Log recovered intact.
