THRESHOLD COMPLEX EXPLORATION LOG

Designation / Log ID: 19-P16

Apparent Date/Time: 22 August 2026 / 08:12 (local) — secondary stamp reads 03:47 11 March 1983

Entry Method: Single metal door marked “A-22 ARCHIVE STACK”. Door closed under its own weight after entry. Exterior handle absent on exit side.

Environmental Baseline

Lighting: linear fluorescent tubes, color temperature measured at 4120 K. Intensity constant at 190 lux.

Ambient temperature: 18.4 °C. Humidity: 53 %.

Background sound: continuous low-frequency hum at 48 Hz. Amplitude 22 dB.

Air movement: none. Barometric pressure 1011.3 hPa on entry; 1007.6 hPa after 12 m of travel.

Spatial Observations

Room estimated 28 m long by 14 m wide. Laser measurement returns 33 m by 11 m.

Floor: polished concrete. Surface temperature 1.8 °C below ambient.

Walls: bare concrete block, unpainted. Block size measured 40 cm by 20 cm. Wall temperature matches ambient.

Ceiling height: 4.2 m. Metal shelving units spaced at 1.9 m intervals. Unit count remains fixed at fourteen after repeated inventory.

Repeating motif: every 3.5 m a free-standing card catalog cabinet is present. Cabinets measure 1.2 m by 0.6 m by 1.5 m. Drawer labels display identical typeface and spacing.

Anomalies

Visual count of shelving bays returns 56. Physical inventory returns 49. Shelf heights shift by 18 cm when observer turns away for more than 6 seconds.

Floor remains level under spirit level. Measured slope along long axis is 2.7°. Slope direction reverses after every 5 m of travel.

Document spines display titles that rearrange between observations. Titles cycle through four fixed sequences at 41-second intervals. Ink temperature measures 16.2 °C regardless of ambient.

Sound of drawer movement arrives 2.1 seconds after the corresponding contact is felt. Delay increases by 0.4 s for every additional 5 m of distance from entry point.

Humidity at floor level remains 53 % while condensation forms on catalog drawers after 3 minutes of contact. Condensation evaporates without measurable change in local humidity.

Entity Notes

None observed.

At the 15 m mark a localized pressure drop of 4.8 hPa occurs within a 1.8 m radius. Drop persists for 11 seconds then equalizes. No visible source or air movement accompanies the change.

Exit / Continuity Status

Exit achieved by retracing path to the metal door. Door opened outward with moderate resistance.

Exterior time on exit: 08:51 local. Elapsed interior time: 39 minutes. Wristwatch confirms same interval.

Residual effects: residual low-frequency hum audible for 9 minutes after exit. Temporary inability to resolve text beyond 4 m lasting 17 minutes. No other reported sequelae.
