THRESHOLD COMPLEX EXPLORATION LOG

Designation / Log ID: 18-O15

Apparent Date/Time: 21 August 2026 / 09:47 (local) — secondary stamp reads 14:03 17 September 1978

Entry Method: Double swinging doors marked “C-11 CAFETERIA”. Doors swung shut after entry. Push bars absent on exit side.

Environmental Baseline

Lighting: recessed fluorescent panels, color temperature measured at 3850 K. Intensity constant at 275 lux.

Ambient temperature: 21.7 °C. Humidity: 41 %.

Background sound: intermittent metallic clatter at irregular intervals averaging 9 seconds. Amplitude 27 dB.

Air movement: none. Barometric pressure 1012.8 hPa on entry; 1004.1 hPa after 18 m of travel.

Spatial Observations

Room estimated 42 m long by 18 m wide. Laser measurement returns 37 m by 23 m.

Floor: linoleum tiles in beige and white checkerboard. Tile size measured 30 cm square. Surface temperature 2.4 °C above ambient.

Walls: painted cinderblock, pale green. Paint thickness measured 1.1 mm. Wall temperature matches ambient.

Ceiling height: 3.6 m. Support beams spaced at 4.8 m intervals. Beam count remains fixed at eleven after repeated inventory.

Repeating motif: every 5 m a rectangular serving counter is fixed to the floor. Counters measure 2.4 m by 0.7 m. Counter surfaces show identical scratch patterns oriented in the same direction.

Anomalies

Visual count of chairs returns 48. Physical inventory returns 61. Chair positions shift by 1.2 m when observer turns away for more than 8 seconds.

Floor remains level under spirit level. Measured slope along long axis is 3.9°. Slope direction reverses after every 7 m of travel.

Serving counters display trays of food that do not match expected cafeteria inventory. Trays cycle through three fixed arrangements at 53-second intervals. Food temperature measures 4.1 °C regardless of ambient.

Sound of chair movement arrives 1.7 seconds after the corresponding contact is felt. Delay increases by 0.3 s for every additional 6 m of distance from entry point.

Humidity at floor level remains 41 % while condensation forms on chair seats after 4 minutes of contact. Condensation evaporates without measurable change in local humidity.

Entity Notes

None observed.

At the 24 m mark a localized temperature drop of 5.3 °C occurs within a 2.1 m radius. Drop persists for 14 seconds then equalizes. No visible source or air movement accompanies the change.

Exit / Continuity Status

Exit achieved by retracing path to the double doors. Doors opened outward with moderate resistance.

Exterior time on exit: 10:29 local. Elapsed interior time: 42 minutes. Wristwatch confirms same interval.

Residual effects: residual metallic clatter audible for 11 minutes after exit. Temporary inability to resolve depth beyond 6 m lasting 19 minutes. No other reported sequelae.
