THRESHOLD COMPLEX EXPLORATION LOG
Designation / Log ID: 21-R18
Apparent Date/Time: 24 August 2026 / 09:03 (local) — secondary stamp reads 03:47 12 March 1983
Entry Method: Single steel door marked “C-8 CABLE VAULT”. Door swings inward. Latch engages behind entry. Exterior handle absent.
Environmental Baseline
Lighting: linear fluorescent tubes, color temperature measured at 4100 K. Intensity constant at 185 lux.
Ambient temperature: 18.4 °C. Humidity: 67 %.
Background sound: continuous low-frequency hum at 48 Hz. Amplitude 29 dB.
Air movement: none detectable. Barometric pressure 1012.1 hPa on entry; 1007.6 hPa after 7 m of travel.
Spatial Observations
Vault estimated 28 m long by 9 m wide. Laser measurement returns 33 m by 6.5 m.
Floor: sealed concrete. Surface temperature 2.3 °C below ambient.
Walls: painted concrete, original color obscured by layered cable trays. Wall temperature matches ambient.
Ceiling height: 3.2 m. Cable trays run parallel to long axis at 0.8 m intervals. Tray count remains fixed at five after repeated inventory.
Repeating motif: every 3.7 m a junction box is present. Boxes measure 0.4 m by 0.4 m by 0.25 m. Cover plates display identical bolt patterns.
Anomalies
Visual count of cable runs returns 14. Physical inventory returns 14. Individual cable lengths measured at 31.2 m while tray span measures 28 m.
Floor remains level under spirit level. Measured slope along long axis is 1.8° toward the far wall. Slope reverses after 6 minutes of continuous observation without change in physical orientation.
Junction box covers display temperatures that rearrange between observations. Readings cycle through three fixed values at 22-second intervals. Cover temperature measures 11.9 °C regardless of ambient.
Sound of current flow arrives 2.1 seconds after corresponding magnetic field fluctuation is detected. Delay increases by 0.4 s for every additional 3 m of distance from entry point.
Humidity at floor level remains 67 % while condensation forms on cable insulation after 5 minutes of contact. Condensation evaporates without measurable change in local humidity.
Entity Notes
None observed.
At the 14 m mark a localized electrostatic discharge of 0.3 kV occurs within a 1.8 m radius. Discharge persists for 6 seconds then collapses. No visible source or arc accompanies the change.
Exit / Continuity Status
Exit achieved by retracing path to the single steel door. Latch released with moderate resistance.
Exterior time on exit: 09:41 local. Elapsed interior time: 38 minutes. Wristwatch confirms same interval.
Residual effects: residual low-frequency hum audible for 9 minutes after exit. Temporary inability to resolve cable labels beyond 2 m lasting 12 minutes. No other reported sequelae.
